We have single-payer libraries and post offices, single-payer medical care for the military, and they are just fine. No one is afraid of those socialized services; but best of all, single-payer police forces. Just think if they were not single-payer, the protection might be like Mafia protection, the way insurance companies have developed here: big profits from sick people, the most vulnerable, with half of all bankruptcies and homelessness related to health problems. What is health care like in China? Do they have the bad word: "socialized medicine or Medicare or do they take care of all of their poeple? &lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;Anyway, off my soapbox, I know you and the MTs were great ambassadors and did not represent the bad side of America and were on the side of better patient care. Wish I could have gone, too. Love you all for going. You will make a better world for my grandchildren.</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4062673368142857699/1855723351731894839/comments/default/5498445472829710822'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4062673368142857699/1855723351731894839/comments/default/5498445472829710822'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://peterpreziosi.blogspot.com/2007/09/east-meets-west-shanghai-experience.html?showComment=1191091140000#c5498445472829710822' title=''/><author><name>Jeanne Amato</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/02353637636746806565</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://peterpreziosi.blogspot.com/2007/09/east-meets-west-shanghai-experience.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4062673368142857699.post-1855723351731894839' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4062673368142857699/posts/default/1855723351731894839' type='text/html'/></entry></feed>
